6th Women in Healthcare Leadership Summit

Dear Viv,

I write to congratulate you on your retirement from Maroba and recognise what has been a remarkable career.
Under your leadership, Maroba has staked a very real claim as having among the best reputations of all Aged Care Facilities in the Newcastle and Hunter region.
Each time I visit Maroba, I’m struck by the friendliness and professionalism of your staff and the
obvious care and devotion that each and every resident is afforded. This is testament to the strong and inspiring leader that you are.
I have long admired and appreciated your dedication to the aged care sector and your longstanding advocacy for better outcomes for this sector amidst often difficult times over the last decade and more.
While I am ultimately saddened to see a person of your conviction and character leaving the aged care sector, I have no doubt that you will have left an indelible mark on the way Maroba is managed and you have more than earned your retirement.
Again, I wish to wholeheartedly congratulate you on a wonderful career and I wish you all the very best for whatever your retirement brings.

Dear Viv
On behalf of the School I would like to extend my congratulations to you on your recent OAM award in the recent
King’s Honours list, recognising your services to aged care. As a valued partner of the School’s education program our
students have benefited from accessing your facility and your contributions to our undergraduate curriculum. You
have played a pivotal role in our profession and most specifically in aged care to promote reform and it was great to
see you acknowledged for that contribution. It is also wonderful to see nurses more broadly being recognised for
their contributions at this level.
